Confidential STD Screening
IF YOU HAVE PRACTICED UNPROTECTED SEX AND THINK YOU MAY HAVE CONTRACTED AN STD, EVEN IF YOU DON’T DISPLAY ANY SYMPTOMS, METRO OBGYN IS HERE TO HELP.
We offer confidential STD testing to help keep both you and your partner healthy and safe. Facing the consequences of unprotected sex can be a time of anxiety, uncertainty, and fear. At Metro OBGYN, our doctors, nurse-midwives, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners are here to help you through this time with confidential STD testing and treatment.
All you have to do is ask.
STD testing is not part of a routine gynecological exam. You need to ask your medical provider for a confidential STD test.
Who Should get Tested for STDs?
- Anyone who has had unprotected sex
- Anyone who is experiencing the following symptoms anytime after having unprotected sex (this includes a broken condom)--sores on the genitals, itching of the genitals, burning during urination, or unusual discharge from the vagina
Please keep in mind that many patients never display any symptoms of an STD. Therefore, it is important to get tested so you don’t unknowingly pass on an STD if you have one.
How are STD Tests Conducted?
Your test may include a pelvic exam, blood sample, and/or urine sample.
